Greetings all,

I wanted to take some time to sort of introduce & talk about wellness body products. Over the past year, I have worked hard to study, harvest & create the most natural, healing products for skin, hair, lips & body. My goal was to incorporate as many plants from the desert as possible, to create awareness of just how healing our "dry, desolate" desert can be. There seems to be a growing demand for all natural products vs mass produced, mainstream products. Let's take a look at WHY all-natural skin & body care is important.

- Reduced Chemical Exposure: Many mainstream care products use chemicals & additives to prolong the shelflife, enhance the flavor, color or scent of the product, to strive for perfection in texture & to cut costs by using cheap, non sustainable packaging in physical appeal. The issue with this, is that any product made with such chemicals or stored for a period of time in toxic packaging, absorbs these chemicals & toxins which are then rubbed into & abrosbed by our bodies. Toxins & chemicals can cause hormonal imbalances, alterations in thinking patterns, inflammation, increased allergic reactions, cancer, long term health effects & so on. Natural products avoid harsh chemicals, artificial colors & synthetic frangances. Not only are they less harmful, but they are also easily absorbed by our bodies & work the way they are intended to with nourishment & healing without disruption from non natural components.

- Gentle on Skin & Hair: One of the main reasons we look for products such as lip masks, scalp treatments, acne creams, first aid balms & face mositurizers is because our day to day activies can be harsh on our bodies. We encounter all kinds of climate, weather, pollutants, hard water, UV rays, grease & other elements that cause & increase risk for breakouts, dryness, chaffing, discoloration, burning, advanced aging & a multitude of reactions in our skin. Having natural, quality skincare available helps to combat these chemicals & free radicals. Ingredients such as essential oils, herbs & extracts are made from evloved plants also fighting against the same elements as us. They have created ways to adapt, survive & thrive. Natural ingredients are gentle on the skin & hair, soothing irritations & continue to work to nourish & heal. Many mainstream products already contain nourishing, moisturizing plant products but add additional chemicals to that for reasons listed above. So, we create the same product for the same reason but remove the chemicals. You still produce a moisturizing, natural, beneficial product that lasts & is instead gentle on our body to work with it, not against it.

-Nourishment & Hydration: Words I keep throwing around, haha, but its true! Natural ingredients are rich in vitamins, minerals, fatty acids & antioxidants that DO nourish, replenish, restore & hydrate. Fun fact~ nourished, hydrated skin automatically gives off a healthy, vibrant appearance.

- Evnironmental Benefits: One of the most important reasons behind using all natural products is its impact on our environment. Your body absorbs what it wants & needs then discreets the rest. The packaging of any product eventually get disposed of & makes its way back outside. Lets normalize reusable product that is less harsh to our evironment. Harsh chemicals, packaing & toxins actually impact our landscapes, climate, wildlife, oceans & air quality. Natural products are often made with sustainable & biodegrdable ingredients, reducing their environmental impact & promoting a greener approach to personal care.

- Transparency - Saftey - Needs: Nautral products can actually be tailored to address specific skin & hair concerns. At any time, with any of my products, I can easily adjust the amount of an ingredient, eliminate it all together due to an allergy or add an ingredient to the recipe & it will not alter how it hardens, it does not dismiss any of the other ingredient benefits nor how the product can be packaged & stored. Natural products have simple, transparent ingredient lists, easy to understand with known ingredientents that allow consumers to make informed choices about which products they use.

These are just a few important reasons & incredible benefits to using all natural skincare & bodycare products. At some point, I will blog on my specific products & their impact/benefits. However, its import to have an understanding of what we use on ourselves, our pets & our children every day & ways these products impact every aspect of our lives, including our environment. Informed choices also gives YOU the best benefits available to you & your loved ones. The best part is how just alterating items you already purchase for more sustainable, eco friendly & all natural choices actually makes a positive impact on our planet! You truly make a difference & an impact everyday. My goal with Desert Chique Shop is that every sale I transact, contributes to a healthier planet & a more sustainable future.
